WHAT IS THE TID ROLLOVER EVENT?

The TID Rollover Event is the day all STS prepaid meters will run out of the TIDs or Token Identifiers that are found in the 20-digit prepaid credit tokens. This is because the base date range was running from 1993 – 2024.

WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO RESET PREPAID ELECTRICITY METERS?

After 24 November 2024, prepaid electricity meters will no longer be accepting tokens with a base date range of 1993. This means that any credit token entered into your prepaid electricity meter with the old base date range will not be accepted by the meter. If you have not yet updated your meter, please do so by contacting your local municipality or service provider.

HOW TO UPDATE YOUR PREPAID ELECTRICITY METER

To check if your Conlog meter is TID compliant:

Key in #005# on your keypad. The display should read R2:T2 if you are TID compliant. If you see R1:T2 please consult your local municipality or service provider.

If you do not see anything that matches that on your display, you possibly have an older meter model or a different manufacturer’s meter. Key in the code 5649 3153 7254 5031 3471. The meter display will run through a test sequence. On the left-hand side, the window number must read either 3 or 4. If you see 2, this indicates that the meter is TID ready.

If you still do not see a number, key in code 1844 6744 0738 4377 2416. You are looking for a response of 2, which will indicate the meter is TID ready.

If your meter has not been upgraded, kindly contact your local municipality or service provider.
