In 1965, Conlog opened its very first home in Umbilo, Durban. What started as a small operation quickly grew, and by 1989 the company had moved into larger premises in Overport; a space that would continue to evolve over the next 20 years as Conlog expanded. Each move reflected more than growth in size; it marked the steady progress of a business built on innovation and resilience. 

That spirit carried us forward. In 2019, Conlog relocated to our current home at the Dube TradePort, a move that positioned us to grow our global reach and sharpen our role as a proudly South African industrialist company. Soon after, in 2020, we expanded beyond South Africa with the opening of a manufacturing plant in Lagos, Nigeria — reinforcing our commitment to Africa as a whole. 

The past few years have brought even more milestones. In 2022, we launched Conlog Direct and the CoDi app, extending our expertise directly to consumers for the first time. The following year saw the debut of the iDM.APEX 1 & 3 smart meters at Enlit Africa, alongside our innovative new water solution, the iDM.Hydra, both designed to address the changing needs of modern utilities and communities. 

Now, in 2025, we proudly celebrate 60 years of industry firsts, achievements, and memories. From pioneering prepayment metering to serving over 90 utilities across more than 58 countries, our journey has been about more than technology. It’s about empowering communities, supporting sustainable development, and ensuring millions of households worldwide have access to safe, reliable energy. 

Looking ahead, our commitment remains the same as it was in 1965: to lead with innovation, to serve with purpose, and to continue building solutions that power people’s lives.
